Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that he does not expect to add to his Manchester United squad in January, unless a long-term target were to become available.
Despite having an injury-hit squad, the Scot has insisted that he will not panic buy in the transfer window.
"If there is a player who I have been interested in, and he was available in January, we would try and do business," Ferguson told MUTV.
"But there is no such player really on the horizon that way, unless we can identify someone we have been monitoring a lot because we do not buy just on a whim at this club."
The Red Devils have been consistently linked with Inter Milan's Wesley Sneijder and Benfica's Nicolas Gaitan, with Ferguson reportedly on the lookout for a creative midfielder.
