Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Joshua Zirkzee on a five-year contract, with the Netherlands international making the move to Old Trafford from Bologna.
Speculation linking the 23-year-old with a switch to the Red Devils has gathered pace over the last few days, with Man United moving quickly to close the deal after his involvement for the Netherlands at Euro 2024.
The 20-time English champions have now officially confirmed his arrival, with the Dutchman penning a contract with Erik ten Hag's team until June 2029, with the option to extend for a further 12 months.
Zirkzee has said that he "cannot wait" to help Man United in their quest for success moving forward.
"Having had discussions with the manager and the leaders of the club I know how exciting the future is going to be here and I cannot wait to play my part in achieving success for Manchester United," the forward told Man United's official website upon confirmation of his signing.

Zirkzee joins Man United on a five-year deal from Bologna
"I am a player who has always dedicated everything to winning; I'm ready for this next challenge, to go to another level in my career and win more trophies.
"It is a privilege to join such an iconic club. I have to take a short break now after being with the national team, but I'll be coming back ready to make an impact straight away."
Meanwhile, Man United's new sporting director Dan Ashworth added: "Securing a forward to enhance our already strong group of attacking players was a key aim for this summer. We are delighted that we've managed to sign a player of Joshua's calibre this early in the transfer window.
"Joshua is an outstanding talent who is ready to make an impact for Manchester United. His ability and desire to grow into a world-class player means that he will be a great addition to the squad that we are building for the exciting season ahead and beyond.

Ashworth says Zirkzee can "grow into a world-class player"
"Having already achieved a significant amount in his career, we will provide Joshua with the perfect platform to reach the next level under the guidance and support of Erik ten Hag and the coaching staff. We look forward to seeing Joshua thrive at Old Trafford over the coming years."
Zirkzee has officially become the first signing of the INEOS era at Old Trafford, with new minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe already making a huge impression at the club.
The Dutchman arrives at Man United off the back of scoring 14 goals and registering nine assists in 58 appearances for Bologna in all competitions, including 12 goals and seven assists in 37 matches last term.
The ex-Bayern Munich youngster is believed to have cost the Red Devils in the region of €42.5m (£36.5m), which is slightly above his release clause of €40m (£34.4m).
According to Sky Sports News, the terms are more favourable for Man United, with the full amount set to be paid to Bologna over the next three years.
Ten Hag's side will begin their pre-season against Rosenborg on Monday, but Zirkzee will now have a small break following his involvement for the Netherlands at Euro 2024.
