Boca Juniors have reportedly made contact with Manchester United's Edinson Cavani over a potential move to the Argentine club in the summer of 2022.
The 33-year-old joined United on a free transfer last summer and has been in impressive form for the 20-time English champions, scoring seven times in 23 appearances in all competitions.
Cavani's existing contract at Old Trafford is due to expire this summer, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are expected to take up a 12-month option on his deal, committing the striker to the club until June 2022.
According to ESPN Argentina, Boca are desperate to sign the Uruguay international next year, and the Argentine club's vice president Juan Roman Riquelme has already spoken to the former Paris Saint-Germain forward about the possibility of a switch to Buenos Aires.
Cavani has become a key player for United in recent weeks, contributing six Premier League goals, including efforts in his team's last two outings in England's top flight.
Boca recently signed Argentine defender Marcos Rojo from the Red Devils.
