AS Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is reportedly a step closer to sealing a £35m switch to Chelsea after undergoing a medical with the Premier League champions.
The 22-year-old, also linked with a move to Manchester United earlier this summer, has been closing in on a move to Stamford Bridge over the past fortnight.
Bakayoko is said to have gone through some physical checks in West London on Wednesday and now has just a few minor details to iron out, potentially paving the way for Nemanja Matic to depart for Man United.
According to The Sun, Chelsea will wait until Saturday to officially unveil their first high-profile signing of the summer, with the transfer window officially opening for business on July 1.
It has previously been claimed that Bakayoko, who featured 47 times for Monaco in all competitions last season, turned down United's advances because he was desperate to link up with Blues boss Antonio Conte.
