David de Gea has revealed that confidence is high in the Manchester United camp ahead of their huge Premier League showdown with rivals Manchester City on Sunday.
The Red Devils have momentum on their side after winning four games in a row, whereas a second-string City side saw their unbeaten start to the campaign come to an end at the hands of Shakhtar Donetsk in midweek.
United have also gone 40 matches without tasting defeat at Old Trafford - the venue for this weekend's crunch clash - and De Gea is optimistic of keeping the title race alive with victory over the league leaders.
"Can City stop United? We play at home with the fans," he told Sky Sports News. "It's a derby, we have confidence, we feel really strong and we want to win.
"The team is in a good moment, we won two difficult away games so we have confidence and we know we play an important game. We really want to win."
City are eight points better off than United heading into the match, with another three points against their rivals enough to equal Arsenal's record of 14 wins in a row in the Premier League.
