Zinedine Zidane 'wants to replace Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford'

A report claims that former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has his eyes on the Manchester United job, with Jose Mourinho's future being called into question.

Zinedine Zidane has reportedly rejected job offers as he is waiting to succeed Jose Mourinho as Manchester United's next manager.

The former Real Madrid boss stepped down from his position at the Bernabeu in May following an unprecedented third successive Champions League triumph.

Having already rejected the chance to return to management, French outlet L'Equipe claims that the 46-year-old has his eyes set on the Premier League, and the Old Trafford job in particular.

United awarded Mourinho a new deal in January to see him through until 2020, but a trophiless 2017-18 and a tumultuous pre-season heading into this campaign has led to suggestions that his time in Manchester may soon be up.

Zidane also lifted the La Liga title and two Club World Cups during his two-and-a-half seasons with Madrid.
