Louis van Gaal has reportedly decided that he will not take up a position in the Dutch national set-up should he leave Manchester United.
The Dutch FA is said to be keen on re-appointing former Netherlands manager Van Gaal as technical director to oversee the nation's centre of excellence.
However, according to The Telegraph, Van Gaal has turned down the opportunity and will be true to a promise made to his wife that he would retire when he leaves Man United.
The Red Devils have long been linked with former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho and their struggles to hold down a top-four place this term could see Van Gaal sacked at the end of the season.
The 64-year-old has one year left on his contract at Old Trafford.
