Report: Dutch FA target appointment of Manchester United's Louis van Gaal

The Dutch Football Association reportedly wants to re-appoint former national manager Louis van Gaal as their technical director should he leave Manchester United.

The Dutch Football Association has reportedly identified Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal as the man to become their new technical director.

Van Gaal left the role of first-team national manager to take over at United in the summer of 2014, but he is now under pressure having disappointed this season at Old Trafford.

According to The Independent, the Dutch FA now wants Van Gaal back to help oversee the Dutch football centre of excellence and rebuild a Netherlands team that failed to qualify for Euro 2016.

It has been widely reported that Jose Mourinho could take over from Van Gaal with the Red Devils, who are currently sixth in the Premier League.
