Midfielder Tom Cleverley has insisted that he would relish any competition for his place at Manchester United.
The champions already have Ryan Giggs, Shinji Kagawa, Michael Carrick and Anderson who can play in his position in the centre of midfield, while they have also been heavily linked with a move for Barcelona's Cesc Fabregas.
However, rather than feel threatened, the England international has revealed that he will do his best to "impress" new manager David Moyes.
"There's always going to be world-class competition and this club's always going to be linked with big players. I don't really take much notice of it – I just play my football," he told the club's official website and PA.
"Sir Alex challenged us every day, so we were always having to impress him. It's no different under David Moyes. We're all working hard to impress."
The 23-year-old made 32 appearances in all competitions last season.
