Luke Shaw: Wayne Rooney return will be "massive boost"

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw feels that Wayne Rooney's return from suspension for his side's clash with Manchester City is massive for the club.

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has admitted that it will be a "massive boost" to have skipper Wayne Rooney back in the side for their clash against Manchester City.

The striker has missed the Red Devils' last three matches due to suspension after being sent off in their match against West Ham United at the end of September.

Rooney will now make his return for Louis van Gaal's men for the Manchester derby on Sunday at the Etihad Stadium.

"It's a massive boost for us," Shaw is quoted as saying by The Mirror. "It's something he's looking forward to.

"You know Wayne, he hates sitting on the sidelines watching and he's said that a few times. I'm really looking forward to having him back."

United are eighth in the Premier League following their draw with Chelsea on Sunday.
