Wayne Rooney "excited" by Angel di Maria signing

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney welcomes new teammate Angel di Maria to the club following the Argentine's arrival from Real Madrid.

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has expressed his excitement at the arrival of Angel di Maria at the club.

The Argentine international completed his move to Old Trafford earlier today on a five-year deal for a new British record transfer fee of £59.7m.

The 26-year-old is United's fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera and Marcos Rojo, and Rooney wasted no time in welcoming his new teammate to the club.

"Welcome to Manchester United angel di maria #excited," the England international wrote on Twitter.

United currently sit 13th in the early Premier League table, having picked up just one point from their opening two games.
