Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers: 'Sir Alex Ferguson lacks old school ethics'

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers suggests that Sir Alex Ferguson should have kept some of his memories "behind closed doors" following the release of his new autobiography.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has criticised former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson following the revelations in his new autobiography.

The 71-year-old Scotsman lifted the lid on his bust-ups with former players including Roy Keane and David Beckham, while also claiming that Liverpool are far away from challenging for titles.

Ferguson, who retired as United manager at the end of last season, also described Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard as "not a top, top player".

"You'd hope you'd have some old school ethics and keep it behind closed doors," Rodgers told talkSPORT.

Ferguson's book My Autobiography goes on sale today.
