Report: Man United's Robin van Persie to be dropped in favour of James Wilson

Robin van Persie could reportedly be replaced by teen James Wilson in Manchester United's match against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is reportedly considering taking Robin van Persie out of the starting lineup against Crystal Palace on Saturday and playing James Wilson instead.

The Dutchman has come under scrutiny in recent weeks after scoring just one goal in his last four appearances for the Red Devils this season.

While 18-year-old Wilson is yet to start a Premier League game, it is believed that he could be preferred to Van Persie at Old Trafford this weekend, according to the Daily Star.

The youngster, who has scored six goals for the Under-21 side this season, has come off the bench three times for the senior team in the current campaign.

United have won just three games out of 10 in the league.
