Manuel Pellegrini: "We must continue improving"

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini revels in his team's "great win" over local rivals Manchester United in the Premier League.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has said that no-one could have predicted his team beating Manchester United 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.

A brace from Sergio Aguero and goals from Yaya Toure and Samir Nasri helped the Citizens to all three points against their local rivals, whose only reply came from Wayne Rooney in the 87th minute.

"It was a great win against Manchester United and no-one believes that 4-1 is possible before the game," Pellegrini told Sky Sports News.

"It's important to score the second goal before we finished the first half. We had a lot of chances and possession of the ball.

"It's an important game for the team and for the fans they will be happy for the month now. Winning a derby is a big match and we must continue improving. Every day we are improving."

City face Wigan Athletic in the League Cup on Tuesday.
