Manchester United's David Moyes: 'Wayne Rooney out for a few weeks'

Manchester United boss David Moyes expects Wayne Rooney to be sidelined "for a few weeks" after suffering a head injury in training.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has revealed that he expects Wayne Rooney to be out "for a few weeks" with a head injury.

The striker was forced to miss United's trip to Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday after cutting his forehead in training.

"He got a cut down the middle of his forehead, completely accidental, but it's quite a bad cut I have to say," Moyes told Sky Sports News. "It will probably keep him out for a few weeks."

Rooney is now almost certain to miss England's upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine.
