Wayne Rooney misses out for Manchester United

Wayne Rooney does not travel with Manchester United for their Premier League encounter against Liverpool at Anfield.

Wayne Rooney has not travelled with the Manchester United squad for their Premier League encounter against Liverpool at Anfield.

It was recently reported that the striker could miss out on the match after suffering a head injury in training.

The England international made his first start of the season on Monday night during United's 0-0 draw with Chelsea at Old Trafford.

Rooney had been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer, but his immediate future looks to be with the Premier League champions as transfer deadline day moves nearer.
