David Moyes: 'Malky Mackay treatment from Cardiff owner not based on football'

Manchester United manager David Moyes believes that Malky Mackay's treatment at Cardiff City is not due to football reasons.

Manchester United manager David Moyes believes that Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan's apparent attempts to boot manager Malky Mackay out of the club are not based on football reasons.

Reports have claimed that the Scotsman received an email from Tan saying that he should resign or face the sack.

"It certainly can't be a decision about football because Malky has done everything correctly," BBC Sport quotes Moyes as saying. "Anybody who looks at it from a football perspective can tell you that he is doing a great job."

Despite the ongoing conflict at the Welsh club, Mackay is expected to take charge of his side's clash against Liverpool at Anfield tomorrow.
