David Moyes explains his Manchester derby team selection

Manchester United boss David Moyes explains his team selection for the derby against Manchester City this evening.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has explained his team selection ahead of this evening's visit of Manchester City.

Moyes has opted to field Michael Carrick and Tom Cleverley alongside Marouane Fellaini in midfield, and the Scot has offered his thought process behind the lineup.

"We wanted to make sure we've got enough players in the middle of the park," he told Sky Sports News.

"We've got enough in midfield with the extra man and we're going to be a bit tighter in the middle. We'll use Juan Mata in different positions at various times during the game.

"If we can get Mata on the ball in the dangerous areas, we can get the benefit of him."

United are 18 points behind league leaders Chelsea.
