Manchester United looking to avoid equalling 53-year-old record against Burnley

Manchester United will be looking to avoid equalling a 53-year-old record when they square off against Burnley in the Premier League on Tuesday night.

Manchester United will move top of the Premier League table on Tuesday evening if they avoid defeat against Burnley at Turf Moor.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have recorded 26 points from their last 10 matches in the top flight, a run which has eased any lingering pressure on the Norwegian.

However, United head into their fixture versus the Clarets looking to avoid equalling a record which was last set 53 years ago.

The Red Devils have not suffered back-to-back defeats to Burnley since 1968, a statistic which will change if they lose out to their fellow North-West side on Tuesday.

United are squaring off against Burnley for the first time since they succumbed to a 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford almost a year ago.

Sean Dyche's team welcome United to their home ground having lost just twice - away at Manchester City and Leeds United - in their last 10 matches.
