Juan Mata "very happy" for Anthony Martial after debut goal

Juan Mata praises new recruit Anthony Martial after seeing the world's most expensive teenager score on his Manchester United debut.

Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has admitted that he was delighted to see teammate Anthony Martial get up and running on his first appearance for the club.

The summer signing from Monaco, who will reportedly set the Red Devils back £58.8m, found the net late on against Liverpool on Saturday evening.

Martial's strike, which came after he was introduced from the bench, made sure of the points for United in a 3-1 win and prevented a potentially nervous finale to the Old Trafford clash.

Speaking to Sky Sports News after the game, Mata said: "I'm very happy for Anthony. Of course he's a new guy, the team is very up for him to do well. What a goal."

Man United boss Louis van Gaal has described Martial as the "best talent for his age" in world football.
