Real Madrid injury, suspension news vs. Man City: Los Blancos missing five defenders for Champions League contest

Sports Mole looks at Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of their Champions League clash with Manchester City.

Real Madrid will be bidding to book their spot in the knockout round of the Champions League when they welcome Manchester City to Bernabeu for the second leg of their playoff clash on Wednesday night.

Carlo Ancelotti's side are in a strong position to reach the next stage of the competition, having recorded a 3-2 victory over the Citizens in the first leg at the Etihad Stadium last week.

Los Blancos will enter this match off the back of a disappointing result, though, having been held to a 1-1 draw by Osasuna in Spain's top flight on Saturday afternoon.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the team's injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Man City, who thumped Newcastle United 4-0 in the Premier League last time out.

David Alaba

Possible return date: February 19 (vs. Man City)

Alaba had only just returned to action after more than a year on the sidelines with a serious knee injury before picking up a muscular issue, but he is back in the squad for this contest.

Dani Carvajal

Possible return date: Unknown

Real Madrid will be without the services of Carvajal for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign due to the severe knee injury that the right-back suffered in the clash with Villarreal on October 5.

Eder Militao
