Mark Hughes: 'Old Trafford doesn't hold same fear factor anymore'

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes feels that a trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United isn't as daunting as it used to be in the past.

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes believes that facing Manchester United at Old Trafford doesn't hold the same fear factor it used to have for visiting teams.

United have won five of their seven matches this season at home, but struggled last season when they lost seven of their 19 matches at Old Trafford.

Hughes feels that more teams have been inclined to attack the Red Devils than in the past, which he believes they have struggled to cope with at times.

Hughes told Sky Sports News: "Mid-table teams approach games against the big teams with less fear across the board. In most games teams will have a go.

"A lot more teams are going to Old Trafford, certainly in recent times, and really testing themselves against them and seeing how far it takes them.

"Then, if you get lucky and you get your noses in front, things can happen. They seem to be losing more games than they used to in recent years and that's because of the amount that has been invested right across the board."

The Potters face off against United in the Premier League later today.
