Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera delighted by Old Trafford goal

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera expresses his delight after scoring his first goal for the club during Sunday's thrashing of QPR.

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has expressed his delight after opening his account for the club during Sunday's 4-0 win over Queens Park Rangers.

The Spanish midfielder found the net with a strike from the edge of the penalty area yesterday afternoon as United picked up their first victory of the season.

Herrera now hopes that the Red Devils can build on their comfortable win and make a swift climb up the Premier League table.

"I am happy, of course," he told the club's official website. "It is important to [score] a goal at Old Trafford, one of the best stadiums in the world. I am happy for my goal but I am happier because we won.

"I wish it can be our first step and I am sure it is. The next games are very important because we want to be as soon as possible at the top of the league."

United continue their Premier League campaign this Sunday when they travel to Leicester City.
