Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is the "best manager in the Premier League", according to Labour MP David Lammy.
The legendary former Manchester United manager's opinion has been revealed a day after it was reported that the Old Trafford club had been keeping tabs on Pochettino, with Louis van Gaal widely expected to be relieved of his duties in the summer.
"About six weeks ago, I sat next to Alex Ferguson at a dinner in support of grassroots football abroad," Lammy told The Spurs Show.
"He said to me, 'I think you guys have got the best manager in the Premier League.'"
Ferguson's supposed support for the Argentine may have come as a blow to Jose Mourinho, with speculation this morning having stated that he is of landing the United manager's job.
