Sir Alex Ferguson embarrassed by Rio Ferdinand protest

Sir Alex Ferguson reveals that Rio Ferdinand will be "dealt with" following the defender's decision to not wear a 'Kick it Out' T-shirt prior to Manchester United's victory over Stoke City.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has criticised Rio Ferdinand for choosing not to wear a 'Kick It Out' T-shirt before the victory over Stoke City on Saturday afternoon.

Across the country, Premier League players wore the shirt designed by the anti-racism campaigners but the United defender decided against showing his support following the handling of the incident involving his brother Anton and John Terry a year ago.

Ferguson told BBC Sport: "At the press conference yesterday I spoke to the press about it.

"It is embarrassing for me. He will be dealt with, no doubt about that."

Joleon Lescott and Jason Roberts also decided against wearing the T-shirts before their games for Manchester City and Reading, respectively.
