Angel di Maria is hopeful that he can "live up" to the demands of wearing the number seven shirt at Manchester United.
The Argentina international has followed George Best, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo in being handed the shirt following his arrival.
The 26-year-old completed his move to Old Trafford from Real Madrid on Tuesday for a British record fee of £57.9m.
"I was aware of the importance of the number seven shirt," Di Maria said during his official unveiling today. "Cristiano Ronaldo had already explained to me how important it was.
"I want to wear this shirt and be able to do as much for the club as Ronaldo and the others have been able to do. The club also wanted me to wear the shirt so I hope I can live up to it."
Di Maria could make his United debut against Burnley on Saturday.
