Angel di Maria to wear Manchester United's iconic number seven shirt

Manchester United's new signing Angel di Maria has been given the number seven shirt after moving to Old Trafford from Real Madrid.

Manchester United have announced that new signing Angel di Maria will wear the iconic number seven shirt at Old Trafford.

The Argentina international signed for the Red Devils from Real Madrid on Tuesday for a British record fee of £59.7m.

As expected, the 26-year-old, who recently admitted that he didn't want to leave Madrid, will be United's new number seven this season.

Di Maria will follow George Best, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo, who have also donned the shirt during their times at United.
