Edgar Davids: 'Louis van Gaal right manager for Manchester United'

Edgar Davis believes that Louis van Gaal is the perfect candidate to manage Manchester United.

Former Holland midfielder Edgar Davids has insisted that Louis van Gaal is the right man to take Manchester United forward.

Reports have suggested that United are preparing to confirm the appointment of the Dutch coach soon, and Davids believes that the 62-year-old can immediately implement his plans at Old Trafford if given the opportunity.

"United should take him," Davids told members of the media. "I worked with him a long time ago, but he's a top manager.

"He goes into a club and he puts in the structure. He did it by putting in a foundation of young players at Barcelona and Bayern Munich and look at the results."

Davids worked under Van Gaal when Ajax enjoyed success in the Champions League 19 years ago.
