Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana could reportedly be given the chance to leave Old Trafford in the summer transfer window.

Clubs in the Saudi Pro League are reportedly still interested in signing Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana.

The Cameroon international was left out of the squad for Sunday's 4-1 Premier League defeat to Newcastle United after he came under fire for his performance in Thursday's Europa League quarter-final first leg against Lyon.

Onana made errors for both of Lyon's goals in the 2-2 draw, leaving the tie finely poised ahead of the return fixture on Thursday.

Man United head coach Ruben Amorim will have to decide whether to bring Onana back into the side for the second leg at Old Trafford.

Even if Onana reclaims his spot in the team, it seems unlikely that he will be the club's number one goalkeeper next summer, with Man United said to be scouring the market for potential replacements.

Onana to be offered Saudi Arabia escape route

As a result, there is a possibility that Man United could look to offload Onana this summer, despite the fact that he is under contract until the summer of 2028, with an option to extend by a further year.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Man United goalkeeper is attracting interest from Saudi Arabian clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

The update claims that teams in the Saudi Pro League remain admirers of Onana after previously being keen to sign him in the summer of 2023, before he completed a permanent move to Man United from Italian giants Inter Milan.

Romano also suggests that a decision is yet to be made on Onana's future, with the shot-stopper looking to reclaim his place for Thursday's clash with Lyon.

Who could replace Onana?

With Onana under pressure, Man United have recently been linked with a number of targets for the summer transfer window.

Brighton & Hove Albion shot-stopper Bart Verbruggen is among those who have been mentioned as a possible option for the Red Devils.

A recent report claimed that Man United have already made contact with the Seagulls over a potential move for the Netherlands international.

The Red Devils have also stepped up their scouting of Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, who could be available for a fee in the region of £40m.
