Manchester United have reportedly decided against punishing Cristiano Ronaldo after video footage circulated online of the Portugal international knocking a phone out of a supporter's hand.
Ronaldo caused a social media storm on Saturday, with videos emerging of the United ace appearing to swipe a phone out of a fan's grasp, resulting in the device hitting the floor.
The footage has led to Merseyside police opening an investigation into the incident, with the authorities set to examine CCTV footage and speak to witnesses.
However, despite the police investigation, The Mirror reports that Man United will not punish the 37-year-old for the incident.
It has been suggested that the club hierarchy are content with the apology that Ronaldo posted online on Saturday after the Everton encounter, with United seeing no reason to punish the Portuguese star.
United are next in action against relegation-threatened Norwich City in the Premier League on Saturday.
