Daley Blind 'very disappointed' by Manchester United defeat

Manchester United midfielder Daley Blind expresses his disappointment following the team's 1-0 loss to Southampton at Old Trafford.

Manchester United midfielder Daley Blind has admitted that he is 'very disappointed' by the team's defeat at home to Southampton.

The Red Devils saw their hopes of a top-four finish suffer a setback on Sunday as they were beaten 1-0 by the Saints at Old Trafford.

Despite piling pressure on their opponents, Blind admits that United's impatience ultimately cost them a positive result as they failed to get a single shot on target.

"It's very disappointing," he told the club's official website. "The first feeling was that we gave only one chance away in the first half, maybe the chance in the first minute, then after that we played really well defensively. But when we get the ball we have to be more patient and wait for the chances to come. Sometimes we were in a bit of a hurry.

"After they went 1-0 up, we made some good chances and had one gone in we could have scored another one and maybe could have won. But, we missed them and then it was always going to be difficult. They were all in defence, and like I said they just had the one chance, so it's a pity."

Blind returned to United's starting lineup against Southampton following two months out through injury.
