The Premier League is widely regarded as the strongest division in world football, possessing many of the best players and managers that the beautiful game has to offer.

In financial terms, English teams currently have a continental stranglehold over their European counterparts and on several occasions have successfully won the race for some of the top talents from across the globe.

A surfeit of players, ranging from teenage sensations to worldwide superstars, continue to be linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, including some from the top tier of German football.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at three high-profile players who could make a summer switch from the Bundesliga to the English top flight.

Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich)

Speculation is rife that Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich could be heading for the exit door this summer, with the midfielder having now entered the final year of his contract at the Allianz Arena.

The 29-year-old has recorded 42 goals and 104 assists in 390 appearances for Bayern and has also won 20 trophies, including eight Bundesliga titles, during his nine-year stay in Bavaria.

However, is it now understood that Kimmich is open to seeking pastures new and would be interested by the prospect of testing himself in the Premier League in the prime years of his career.

Kimmich has allegedly rejected a contract offer from Barcelona and now that the La Liga giants have cooled their interest in the Germany international, English quartet Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool are all set to battle for his signature.

As things stand, Man City are believed to be leading the race for Kimmich, with The Mirror reporting that the versatile midfielder, valued at around £30m, is 'determined' to reunite with former Bayern boss Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium.

Dani Olmo (RB Leipzig)

Another name said to be high on Man City's radar is RB Leipzig attacker Dani Olmo, with a recent report claiming that the Citizens are eyeing up a big-money double swoop for both the Spanish and Kimmich amid uncertainty over the futures of players including Bernardo Silva, Jack Grealish and Kalvin Phillips.

Olmo, a versatile player who can operate in a variety of midfield and attacking positions, has established himself as a star player for Die Roten Bullen since joining the club in 2020, scoring 29 goals and providing 34 assists in 148 appearances across all competitions.

The 25-year-old still has four years remaining on his contract and is understood to possess a €60m (£51m) release clause that expires in the middle of July, meaning that interested suitors face a race against the clock if they wish to lure him away from Leipzig.

Man City are not the only clubs said to be interested in signing Olmo, as Liverpool and Man United are also monitoring his situation, while a potential return to Barcelona, where he spent seven years as an academy player, has also been mooted.

Last month, Olmo admitted that he is 'motivated' by rumours linking him with a number of top European clubs and refused to rule out a summer exit from Leipzig.

Maximilian Beier (Hoffenheim)

One of the true breakthrough stars of the 2023-24 Bundesliga season was Hoffenheim forward Maximilian Beier, who scored 16 goals in 33 league appearances after netting just 15 times during a two-year loan spell at second-tier outfit Hannover 96.

Operating as a striker, winger and attacking midfielder last season, the 21-year-old was named Hoffenheim's Player of the Season and his impressive performances were rewarded with a call-up to Julian Nagelsmann's Germany squad for Euro 2024.

Beier has also caught the eye of several English clubs, with one report claiming that Chelsea have made an enquiry for the youngster, but face competition from Aston Villa.

Man United are also said to have approached the forward's camp to learn of his wage demands, while Liverpool, Brighton & Hove Albion, Brentford and Nottingham Forest are four other Premier League clubs who have been credited with an interest.

Beier is widely expected to leave Hoffenheim this summer and his contract, which expires in 2027, is said to possess a release clause valued at €32.5m (£27.5m).
