Phil Jones ready to return

Manchester United defender Phil Jones is ready to return to senior action from a knee complaint.

Phil Jones has revealed that he is fit enough to return to action for Manchester United against Crystal Palace on Saturday night.

The 23-year-old has sat out United's last three matches with a knee injury that he sustained during last month's Manchester derby.

However, having played for the club's Under-21 side against Southampton last night, the centre-back is hopeful that he can regain his place in Louis van Gaal's starting lineup.

"I'm happy to play in the Under-21s and get some fitness. I feel I'm ready to go again and hopefully I can make the squad on Saturday," he told MUTV.

"Hopefully, I'll recover on Tuesday, then train on Wednesday and Thursday and see how it goes. I'll take it from there."

Jones has made 21 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils this term.
