UEFA confirm Champions League seeding changes

UEFA confirm that the Champions League seedings will change from next season with the holders and winners of the top seven European Leagues in pot one.

UEFA have confirmed that the Champions League seedings will change from next season.

Currently, the coefficient rankings are determined by the results accumulated over the last five seasons for each club competing in the elite tournament.

From the 2015-16 season onwards, UEFA have confirmed that pot one, which holds the seeded teams, will now contain the holders and the champions from the top seven European leagues.

For example, should Manchester United qualify for the Champions League by the end of this season, despite only being missing from the tournament in this 2014-15 campaign, they will only be seeded if they win the Premier League title.
