Luiz Felipe Scolari impressed by Fernandinho display

Luiz Felipe Scolari admits that Fernandinho is giving himself a good chance of playing at the World Cup for Brazil.

Brazil head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has admitted that he was delighted with Fernandinho's display in the 5-0 victory over South Africa on Wednesday.

The Manchester City midfielder scored one of his side's goals and won plaudits for his performance on an impressive night for the World Cup hosts.

Scolari told Lancenet: "Fernandinho scored a beautiful goal but that was not the only thing I liked - also his effort, his good passes.

"Fernandinho played well in all roles. He has now been added to the list of options for the World Cup with a good chance [of being called up]."

The 28-year-old moved to the Etihad Stadium from Shakhtar Donetsk last summer.
