Sevilla president Jose Castro has denied claims that his club attempted to re-sign Spanish attacker Jesus Navas from Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
Navas, 30, spent 13 years with Sevilla before joining Man City in the summer of 2013 and he is fast closing on 150 appearances for the English outfit in all competitions.
It had been reported that Sevilla made an attempt to bring the winger back to the Estadio Ramon before the start of the 2016-17 campaign, but that notion has been rejected by Castro.
"We have not had contact during the summer despite what was said. It's logical that if he leaves City one day he wants to return here, but this year there has been no interest or negotiation," Castro told Cadena COPE.
Navas scored 34 times in 388 appearances for the Sevilla first team between 2003 and 2013.
