Barcelona have reportedly reduced the salary that they were planning to offer Manchester City defender Eric Garcia due to the club's financial state.
Garcia is set to become a free agent in the summer and it is believed that he agreed a deal in principle to join Barca last year.
However, Marca suggests that the Catalan giants are no longer able to pay the Spain international the amount previously agreed upon.
The report indicates that Barca are still eager to snap up Garcia, who has also attracted interest from Arsenal and Chelsea, and are hopeful that the 20-year-old will accept the lower salary.
Mateu Alemany is now overseeing transfer decisions behind the scenes at Camp Nou, with Memphis Depay and Georginio Wijnaldum also believed to be targets.
