Matija Nastasic: 'I want to stay at Schalke 04'

Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic reveals that he would like to remain at Schalke 04 at the end of his loan deal with the Bundesliga club.

Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic has revealed that he would like to commit his long-term future to Schalke 04.

Nastasic has established himself in the centre of defence at the Bundesliga side since departing the Etihad Stadium on loan, and the Serbian international has admitted that he is keen to remain in Germany past the summer.

The 21-year-old told Bild: "I am very happy here and looking forward to every game. After the season, we all have to talk and see what the best solution is.

"But for sure, I would like to stay here. I take a long view with Schalke. The players, the staff, the organisation - everything here is of the highest level."

Nastasic has contributed to Schalke winning seven points from their last three games.
