Atletico Madrid reportedly opt against a move for Manchester City defender Nicolas Otamendi during the summer transfer window.

Atletico Madrid have reportedly ruled out an approach for Manchester City defender Nicolas Otamendi.

After making just 14 starts in the Premier League last season, it has been suggested that the centre-back could be allowed to leave the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Atletico - as well as a number of other La Liga clubs - have been linked with a move, despite the 31-year-old still having three years left on his contract.

However, according to reports in Spain, Atletico are not planning to follow up their initial interest in the player as they instead focus on other targets.

The report adds that Mario Hermoso and Danny Blind are both on their radar after the departure of left-sided Lucas Hernandez to Bayern Munich.
