Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is pleased that his side were able to put Norwich to the sword during their 5-1 win at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini was happy with his side's clinical finishing in front of goal after they beat Norwich City 5-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

Four second-half goals from Samir Nasri, Yaya Toure, Mario Balotelli and Adam Johnson added to Sergio Aguero's first-half strike.

"It was not easy because it was only 1-0 in the first half and if you don't score the game can change," Mancini told BBC Sport.

"[Aguero] scored a fantastic goal because it was not easy to score and the goal Mario scored today [with his shoulder] was fantastic because it was the only way he could score.

"It is not important now [to be top of the table], it is important to be there at the end of the season."

City next host Bayern Munich in a crunch Champions League group stage match on Wednesday evening.
