Manchester City announce that five members of Roberto Mancini's backroom staff have been released by the club.

Manchester City have announced that five men from Roberto Mancini's coaching staff have been released by the club.

The former Premier League champions have let go of Ivan Carminati, Fausto Salsano, Massimo Battara, Angelo Gregucci and Attilio Lombardo following their decision to sack Mancini a year to the day that he guided the club to their first league title in 44 years.

The club released a statement on the official website saying: "We thank them for their contribution to Manchester City since their arrival and wish them well with their future careers."

Meanwhile, Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini is expected to be installed as the club's new manager following the Spanish outfit's confirmation that the Chilean can leave the club.
