The 18-year-old defender currently plays for second division side Gimnasia La Plata.
City scout Attilio Lombardo has now recommended the centre-back to manager Roberto Mancini, according to talkSPORT.
Gimnasia are not expected to want a large fee for the player due to his inexperience in the first team.
