Vincent Kompany: 'Great time to be part of City'

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany believes that "it's a great time to be part of Man City" after the club climbed to the top of the Premier League table.

Vincent Kompany has expressed his delight at seeing Manchester City top the Premier League table after victory at White Hart Lane.

City picked up their eighth straight league win after brushing aside Tottenham Hotspur, and Kompany thinks that it is the perfect time to be a part of the club

"I'm so happy with the win and the way we played," the club's captain told BT Sport following the game. "It was the way we played, it's not just the result – we enjoyed it. It's a great time to be part of Man City."

The one sour note for the Citizens was the injury sustained by Sergio Aguero, who had to leave the field at the end of the first half.

"It's bad news to lose Sergio but we'll have to see," Kompany continued. "I don't know how bad it is. There's good news though – Jovetic stepped up and scored today and he looked like the player we thought he was when we got him with this performance."

City are one point clear at the top of the table after both Chelsea and Arsenal dropped points during the midweek fixtures.
