Italy name eight uncapped players for England friendly

Italy boss Cesare Prandelli picks eight uncapped players in his squad to play England in next week's friendly.

Italy manager Cesare Prandelli has named eight uncapped players in his squad for next week's friendly against England.

Prandelli has opted to leave Juventus and Napoli players out of the match, as they face a trip to Beijing this weekend to play in the Supercoppa season opener.

AC Milan trio Stephan El Shaarawy, Mattia De Sciglio and Francesco Acerbi will all get the chance to make their debuts.

Atalanta also have three players among the 22-man squad, with striker Manolo Gabbiadini, defender Federico Peluso and goalkeeper Andrea Consigli all included.

Genoa goalkeeper Mattia Perin and Sampdoria midfielder Andrea Poli complete the list of debutants in the Azzurri squad.

Former Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani has earned a call-up after completing his move back to Serie A with Fiorentina this week.

Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli will also be part of the travelling party for the friendly in Berne, Switzerland on Wednesday, August 15.
