Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has revealed that he is edging closer to full fitness, but is not quite 100%.
The 27-year-old signed for Pep Guardiola's team last season, but in total he has made just 16 Premier League appearances since then.
Gundogan was sidelined with knee ligament damage for nine months, but he has been working his way back to action, featuring in six league matches this season, none of which was from the starting spot.
Despite not being declared fit enough to be in the first XI by Guardiola, the midfielder has been included in Germany's squad for friendlies against England and France.
According to ESPN, when asked about his level of fitness, Gundogan told reporters: "If you want a figure, I'd say 70%, maybe 80%. I still lack playing rhythm.
"I've not started every match, but other than that I feel fine. I am in a shape where I can start, and that's the most important thing."
City remain unbeaten after 17 matches in all competitions.
