The 22-year-old only joined the Greek side three weeks ago on a deal until the end of the season.
However, having suffered a broken metatarsal in training, Zuculini will now undergo his rehabilitation back in Manchester with City's medical staff.
It is likely that the Argentine will require an operation, which will sideline him for around two months.
Zuculini joined the Citizens from Racing Club in 2014.
