Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Sheffield United

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Sheffield United.

Manchester City will be looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they travel to Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon.

The Citizens were held to a 1-1 draw by West Ham United in the league last weekend, with the result leaving them in 13th position in the table after an inconsistent start.

Pep Guardiola's side will enter the clash with the Blades off the back of a strong performance, though, beating Marseille 3-0 in their second Champions League group match on Tuesday night.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Sheffield United, who are currently 19th in the table after a poor start to the campaign.

Sergio Aguero

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Sergio Aguero picked up a hamstring injury during the clash with West Ham last weekend, which saw him miss out against Marseille in the Champions League. It is currently unclear how long the striker will spend on the sidelines, but he will definitely not be available for the clash with Sheffield United.

Gabriel Jesus

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: November 21 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

Gabriel Jesus is currently on the sidelines with a thigh issue but is expected to return to first-team training in the early stages of November. In theory, the Brazil international could make his comeback in the Premier League clash with Tottenham after the next international break.

Nathan Ake

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: October 31 (vs. Sheffield United)

Nathan Ake was not involved against either West Ham or Marseille due to a slight groin issue, but the Netherlands international could be available for selection on Saturday afternoon.

Fernandinho

Status: Out
Type of injury: Leg
Possible return date: November 21 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

Fernandinho was forced off against Porto in the Champions League earlier this month after picking up a leg injury and was not involved against West Ham or Marseille. The Brazil international is not expected to be available for selection until after the November international break.

Benjamin Mendy

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: November 21 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

Benjamin Mendy is currently on the sidelines with a muscular issue; the injury is not thought to be serious, though, and he could also make his return to the field after the international break.

MANCHESTER CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

Man City have no suspension concerns for the Premier League contest.
