Manuel Pellegrini: 'Yaya Toure likely to miss Real Madrid clash'

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini says that Yaya Toure is likely to be missing from the squad for the first leg of their Champions League tie with Real Madrid.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that Yaya Toure is likely to miss the first leg of his side's Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid.

While midfield teammate Kevin De Bruyne was rested against Stoke City on Saturday afternoon, Toure played and helped City establish a 4-0 lead against the Potters before picking up an injury during the closing stages of the match at the Etihad Stadium.

Toure completed the game but Pellegrini has suggested that the Ivorian will be forced to sit on the sidelines for the first leg in the North-West.

The Chilean told reporters: "I think Yaya is going to be out, he has not recovered from the muscle injury."

Toure has netted eight times in 44 appearances in all competitions this season.
