Watford keen to bring Mario Balotelli back to English football?

Former Manchester City and Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli is reportedly a deadline-day target for Championship side Watford.

Championship side Watford are interested in bringing Brescia striker Mario Balotelli back to English football, according to a report.

The Italy international spent a combined four seasons playing for Manchester City and Liverpool, winning the Premier League title with the former in 2012.

Balotelli currently plies his trade for Brescia but is looking for a move away following the club's relegation to Serie B last season.

The Daily Mail claims that Watford may now offer the 30-year-old a route out of the Stadio Mario Rigamonti before the transfer window closes on Monday night.

However, the Hornets also face competition from Genoa, who are themselves in the market for a striker.

Watford have already signed Glenn Murray and Stipe Perica this summer, but they have scored just four goals in six matches in 2020-21.
