Liverpool forward Luis Suarez expresses his desire to play in La Liga, calling it a "dream".

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has admitted that he wants to play in Spain's La Liga before he retires.

The 25-year-old, who joined the Reds from Ajax for a £23m transfer fee in January 2011, has been one of the club's best performers during a disappointing season for the Merseysiders.

He has scored 17 domestic goals this campaign, attracting interest from Italian duo Roma and Juventus.

Although he also holds Italy's Serie A in the highest regard, Suarez explained that a move to La Liga would be a "dream".

He said: "I hope to play in Spain in the future, because together with the English and Italian leagues, they are the best in the world.

"Any player would dream of playing there."

Suarez was brought to Anfield by recently-dismissed manager Kenny Dalglish and he had earlier thanked the Scot for his support.
